i was walking up 9th under all the awnings seeing the and all the way down the street where rectangles of falling snow happened in the breaks of the cover overhead.
and i went into the grocery store with my ipod still on and it was amusing that everyone around my was picking out produce to music.
the trees were weighted down and looked like bending creatures, and the tarps strung up over the fruit stands were imploding/bulging under the weight of all the snow.
it was strange and peaceful and almost off to see people roaming in the streets under traffic lights while the snow was blowing around. no cars.

when hillary luvshis stood next to a small triangular bush and compared herself size-wise to it, and that made me want to block out every object in a space and make size comaprisons.
she stretched out her arm and was like guys look, i’m the same size as that tree.

on my early morning walk back from city i watched a backhoe moving these big steel road plates. the metal claw-hand-cup part was scraping (struggling) towads the far edge of the square plate, jut not making it to grip the edge, scratching and screeching, then it dragged its metal hand over the plate until one f its claw-fingers fell into a hole and it started dragging the plate around.
the was something very odd about this machine moving metal in a way that felt human/animal

a provacatively dressed blond tell you “this is a sad movie” and then pouts
then you watch a vase of tulips, as dramatic music plays and builds and then finally a single petal falls. the music builds again and the tulips wilt the slightest bit and then it ends.
this sounds very beautiful i wish i could have seen it.
tonight we went to the academy of natural science, to hear a talk by richard barnes (animal logic).
it was really interesting and at the end someone asked if he will one day photograph his own works that are in museum collections. he brought up the idea of theater, and had this performance where people in lab coats wheeled a casting of a whale skeleton inside a wooden armature across the street.
i was always fascinated by dioramas, i remember my last trip to the natural history museum and being amazed by the backgrounds that seem to stretch so far back into space, and the way sand was stuck down on the floor around the feet of dead creatures that are revived in these situations–so much effort is put into the reality of these totally unreal scenes.
his work explores this, so it was a worthwhile trip into center city.
ps he also documented the birdnests of urban birds–what they take from us to make their shelter.

it is a space that opens and closes, fist noticed in the sky, when the clouds let through a single beam of light, that illumainates a streak fo the world and makes whatever spot it terminates on glow bright green. in the moving, changing sky it opens and closes, the key hole happens and is then shut, pushed out of the way, smooshed together.
but i have found it everywhere, and it can exist more permanently and solidly, but i also like when it is momentary
and here is the forest eating itself, sprouting out of itslef, damp darkness that attaches everything to itself.
to see a video of a keyhole, and of a little boat of ice, that broke off from a glacier and sailed towards shore
visit my old blog, that lets you upload video for free. http://bdenigris.blogspot.com/2010/01/this-is-link-where-you-can-find-boat.html

how can i effect a situation, what is the smallest action i can perform to change the outcome. can i actually change the outcome of anything. how delicate is the sequence of things that add up to some sort of ending. how do i interfere?
and waiting. needing to act but not. sitting at the busstop, or watching your reflection in the window of a train from one of the line to another. bring closely tethered or weighed down on my lower half. attaching everything to me and dragging it while i walk.

first we are going to make portable camera obscuras, boxes that we can carry around and plop down and fit inside of. . and then we should put it on wheels.
or try turning a car into one.
and try watching the tv through it.
have a conversation.
one of us would be inside, the other one outside waving their arms, while the other person just sits there.
or one of us would set up an environment for the other one to navigate, blindfolded, while we watched inside the camera.
myself and the other can be performed this way.
